Alenda Golf

Situated at the foot of the Sierra de Las Aguilas mountains, the Alenda Golf Club has built a wonderful 18-hole golfing experience with gentle terrain but still a challenging par of 72.

It’s a varied course suitable for all skill levels but you will probably have to use every club in your bag.

The tricky undulating greens in particular demand a good putting line that allows for the slope. Flag positions are changed on a regular basis so each green challenges your ability to read greens and pase.

Designed by Roland Favrat and opened in 1999, the course is mature, well planned and provides a relatively quick round as all the holes are linked together with short distances between the tees and greens.

The first nine holes are medium length, on wide fairways, but still require accuracy rather than strength. For the backside concentration is needed, on this technical part of the course accuracy is definitely more important than your ability to hit it long.

Take particular care at the tricky 16th and be careful where you drive your ball on the last. Many a match has been lost with water down the left, an elevated green that makes everything hit short run down the hill away from the hole.

The course offers the scenic view across the Mediterranean and the mountains with all fairways being lined by both ancient olive and palm trees.

Alenda Golf Course offers facilities such as a covered practise areas; a large open driving range, bunkers and a 9 hole short game practise area.

Beginners can take full advantage of excellent tutorial classes provided by one of the very best teaching professionals along the coast, in Spain come to that.
